EMS was started in 1965 in Crystal Lake, Illinois by father and son. Early focus
was on punching and stamping products. In 1971 the company moved to Hebron,
Illinois to handle the growth. In 1974, the company began to develop business
in custom sheet metal fabrication, however, still was driven by metal stamping work.
During the 1980’s, EMS was starting to fabricate aluminum and copper bus bar, but
was still heavily involved in metal fabrication and stamping. The third
generation joined the company in 1985 as EMS expanded into Powder Coating and
Plating. Still growing, EMS moved into its current location in Richmond, Illinois
in 1998. The company invested heavily in the year 2000 on new automated equipment
and other business software to enable record growth since 2001. Today, the family
is still going strong providing their employees, customers, and community with
tremendous value.
